DOP District 5 March News

Dear Sisters!!  Kalo Mina!!

March has breezed right in and our whirlwind of activity continues.  Tomorrow we will honor our Salute to Women Honoree, Dr. Joanne Varratos Diamantidis at the Pines Manor in Edison. I look forward to seeing you there. 

March 22 is the Ahepa Family Bowling Date- We have worked very hard to put together this fun event and hope you can join us from 2-4 pm at Bowlero in North Brunswick. Please see attached flier for details. Friends are welcome as well as children. If you are attending the Salute to Women tomorrow, please find our District Marshall and Chair of the event, Gina Pramagioulis, to take care of payment. We are able to accept cash, checks, Venmo or Zelle.

District and National Obligations are due March 31st !  The forms were sent out under separate email to Chapter Presidents and Treasurers and can also be found on the websites.

April 26 is our Annual District 5 DOP Spring Luncheon at the Grain House in Basking Ridge, NJ at noon.  Please see attached flier. This is always a fabulous event where the Chapter Presidents give a very brief summation of their year, gift basket auctions, as well as the drawing for the $500 Visa Gift Card raffle which was the District Lodge Fundraiser. The flier has a place to reserve your spot and make payment. Of course, if you are coming tomorrow, please feel free to find our District Lt. Governor, Athena Borzeka, to make payment or for more details.

Our District Convention will be hosted by the AHEPA of Paramus on June 20-21.   A separate email containing the convention schedule, hotel, details for the weekend, as well as delegate and registration forms.

Lastly, please see the attached fliers for the 75th Anniversary Celebration for Tethys on March 15th and their Internet Safety Presentation on March 5th. 

The Agape chapter in Wyckoff is also hosting their Paint N Sip on March 15th.

I know that there are a lot of events going on, but please try to support our District and fellow chapters when possible.

The Annual District 5 Convention is scheduled for June 20-22, 2025. This year the Convention is being hosted by the Alexander Hamilton AHEPA Chapter #54 of Paramus, NJ along with the Daughters of Penelope District 5 Lodge. The main conference events and Banquet Gala will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel, 2117 Route 4 East, Fort Lee, NJ. A Farewell Luncheon and Church Service will follow at St. Athanasios Church, 51 Paramus Road, Paramus NJ, on Sunday, June 22, 2025.  The local AHEPA Chapter #54 will also celebrate their Centennial at the Banquet Gala.

The attached packet includes the Event Overview Schedule, Event Registration, Hotel Reservation Information, and Ad Journal Forms, all of which are due by June 1st. The Delegate Forms (chapter, district lodge and past district governor credential forms are due at least 3 weeks prior to the convention which is May 30th and sent to the District Governor and District Secretary.  All chapters are encouraged to support the Ad Journal by purchasing an ad.

Included in the packet is also a Chapter Election Form which is to be sent post-election to the DOP HQ, District Secretary, District Governor, Grand Liaison as well as the Grand Vice President.

The District Lodge thanks all of the Sisters for their support and prompt response. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Convention.
